Yes, made of wood. It has a very heavy-duty glass cover over the face.

2. Can you use a regular battery with this table clock?

Yes, it takes one AA battery (not included in the package).

3. How do you install the battery?

It is easy to install the battery. There are 3 metal tabs on the back of the clock. Pull the metal tabs to open the back and install the battery.

4. Is this decorative desk table clock an alarm clock?

No, it is not an alarm clock.
